For couples who don’t want to perform on their wedding day.

Charlotte, NC

Wedding Photographer

“Be present on your wedding day, I’ll take care of the rest.”

I’m Brandon Pickett, a documentary wedding photographer in Charlotte, NC — his approach is built around real moments, honest emotion, and the people who matter most to you.

I’ve photographed over 350 weddings all across Charlotte and beyond and I believe the best wedding photos remind you how it felt, not how it looked.

The Philosophy

You should actually be there on your wedding day.

Most couples spend months planning every detail — and then spend the day itself performing for a photographer.

That's not how it should work.

My approach is simple: I stay out of your way. I watch, I anticipate, and I photograph the day as it actually happens — the laughter before the ceremony, the tears you didn't expect, your grandmother's face when she sees you for the first time. The moments that matter most are almost never the posed ones.

Capturing Those Fleeting Moments.

The tears, laughter and all the emotions you experience on your wedding day.

Most of your wedding day, I’m quiet—watching, anticipating, and staying out of the way. A true fly-on-the-wall, waiting for the moments that actually matter.

Like this emotional photo of a grandmother hugging her grandson right after he got married at Uwharrie Vineyards & Winery—the kind of moment you can’t plan, pose, or recreate.

Photos like that don’t happen by accident. They happen when your photographer is fully locked in: reading the room, tracking the relationships, and seeing what’s about to happen before it does.

There are a lot of talented wedding photographers in Charlotte. But capturing feeling—the real weight of the day—is a different game entirely.

Why Couples Hire Me.

The couples I work with usually are not interested in performing or spending their wedding day posing for hours. They want to be present, enjoy the experience, and trust that the real moments will be captured beautifully.

My signature documentary style is built around exactly that — creating photographs that feel natural, meaningful, and true to how the day actually felt.
