Amanda and Santi during their wedding ceremony at Moretz Mills in Hickory, North Carolina.
Some weddings remind you that the best photographs come from simply paying attention. Amanda and Santi’s wedding at Moretz Mills in Hickory, North Carolina, was one of those days.
From the beginning, Amanda and Santi stood out as two of the sweetest, most genuine people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. There was an ease to the way they moved through the day, a warmth in the way they interacted with the people around them, and a sincerity that made the moments in between just as meaningful as the big ones.
A Wedding in Two Languages
With Santi originally from Argentina, their ceremony was held in both English and Spanish. It was a meaningful way to bring their backgrounds together and make sure the people closest to them could share fully in the experience.
There is something special about a wedding where different languages, cultures, and families come together. You can feel the emotion, not from words, but from expressions and body language.
A Day That Felt Like Them
As a documentary wedding photographer, I’m drawn to couples who feel comfortable being themselves rather than worrying about how a wedding is supposed to look. Amanda and Santi made that easy.
Their kindness felt genuine, and the day had a personal quality that didn’t need to be manufactured. My approach was to give them room to enjoy the people around them while quietly documenting the expressions, interactions, and small moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
Those photographs often become the ones that mean the most, not because anyone planned them, but because they bring you back to how it all actually felt.
Wedding Photography at Moretz Mills
Located in Hickory, North Carolina, Moretz Mills provided a distinctive setting for Amanda and Santi’s wedding. The character of the venue offered a fitting backdrop for a day centered less on putting on a show and more on being together.
I approach every wedding with the same intention: to observe carefully, anticipate moments as they unfold, and create photographs that feel true to the people in them. Not every meaningful moment happens at the center of the room. Sometimes it’s a glance across the crowd, a quiet exchange between family members, or a brief moment when the rest of the day seems to disappear.
Amanda and Santi’s wedding was a wonderful reminder of why I love this work. Getting to document people who are so kind, grounded, and completely themselves is a privilege.
Congratulations, Amanda and Santi. Thank you for allowing me to be part of such a meaningful day.
¡Felicitaciones, Santi y familia! Muchas gracias por su cálida hospitalidad y por hacerme sentir tan bienvenido. Fue un placer ser parte de un día tan especial.
